This eponymous debut album by Hitherside was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Hitherside’s very own engineer/producer Sam Oerlemans in their home studio, dubbed 7th Circle Studio. He is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who played all the instruments on the album. All the songs were written by Sam and singer, Jennifer Summer. Many of their songs are based on personal life experiences. They landed an endorsement deal with PreSonus Audio Electronics with the release of their debut single/video, ‘Insignificant Other’. PreSonus quotes that “Hitherside is a radio-ready, Alt-Rock, one-two punch that explores the dichotomy of heavy guitars paired with female vocals. The result is intense, emotional and highly listenable music”.
